Power of Visualization

Hello everyone , I’m Kerry Overfelt aka KO. I want to talk to you about the power of visualization.

Visualization is a potent tool that enables individuals to tap into their inner strength, creating a mindset of success and optimism. By mentally rehearsing desired outcomes, the brain creates neural pathways that facilitate peak performance, confidence, and motivation.

Visualization is the practice of using your imagination to create detailed mental images of desired behaviors or events, strengthening the mind-body connection to achieve goals.

I know your thinking , this is all sounds great now how do we do it?
To use it effectively, sit in a quiet space, relax, and vividly imagine the sound of the bagpipers , the smell of tacky , use all your senses to recreate a game type experience. See yourself walking into the box , the feel of the handle of you grab the wt , imagine it feels so light as you swing back and forth . As I’m running this movie through my head I also am moving my feet and hips all in an unconscious manner like I have know control over it . That’s when I know I’m really locked into my visual.

I will also watch videos and visualize that feeling the thrower must be feeling in that moment. I watch from the bottom up , footwork is the key to throwing.
I then see what the legs are doing , now the hips , the torso , the arms and finally the head. Watching this as single parts first and then the combo into the full throw. This helps me understand where my upper body needs to be in relation to my hips. I will then play the throw in my head over and over again , feeling the muscles flex on each throw.

If your already using visualization that is great , if your not you’re missing out on a mental cheat code.

Happy tossing
Kerry Overfelt
